Job summary

CRH Materials Poland in Warsaw is seeking an experienced Controlling Manager to join our finance organisation. This strategic role collaborates with Finance Directors and Financial Controllers across Polish operating companies, guiding performance improvement and adherence to Group standards.

Qualifications

  • University degree.
  • At least five years of professional experience in finance.
  • Very good knowledge of management and financial accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as treasury management.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to quickly analyse and validate financial and operational performance data.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to draw sound conclusions and identify inconsistencies.
  • Ability to present and defend opinions and conclusions.
  • Results‑oriented mindset combined with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality work, both in terms of content and presentation.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and drive change effectively.
  • Knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • ACCA qualification or active progress towards obtaining it.
  • Experience working with various reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse monthly management reports, half-yearly financial reports, budgets and long-term strategic plans of Polish operating companies (OpCos).
  • Prepare regular management reports, including performance analysis, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Support operating companies in achieving their objectives, including commercial performance, total working capital (TWC) management, operating cash flow, forecasting and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate and support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes in cooperation with Finance Directors and Financial Controllers of the operating companies.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations relating to capital expenditure and acquisition proposals.
  • Develop and implement best practices in financial reporting and analysis across all operating companies, ensuring compliance with Group policies and standards.
  • Interpret, implement and oversee compliance with the Group Treasury Policy across the Polish operating companies.
  • Manage credit facilities and cash‑pooling structures for the operating companies, and build and maintain strong relationships with corporate banks.
  • Review internal control procedures and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and commentary for key stakeholders, as required.
  • Coordinate the work of the Controlling team — 3 FTEs.

We are looking for an experienced Controlling Manager to join our Warsaw office. This is a strategic role at the heart of our finance organisation. The person in this role will work closely with Finance Directors and Financial Controllers across our Polish operating companies, supporting sound financial decision‑making, performance improvement and compliance with Group standards. The role will also manage and coordinate the work of a three‑person Controlling team.

Your responsibilities
