Job summary

Exide Group in Poznań is seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement professional to strengthen and develop a Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen culture. You will train, coach and guide teams to implement ongoing improvements across processes to enhance availability, efficiency and quality.

You will work with production, engineering, quality and logistics to boost OEE, reduce waste and standardize practices across sites, while driving data-driven decision making and KPI-based management.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or related field.
  • Practical experience in manufacturing operations with strong collaboration with shop-floor teams.
  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvement tools within production environments.
  • Able to lead small cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, quality, process).
  • Rigorous follow-up on action plans and ownership of critical actions.
  • Knowledge of lean and Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Leads reliable, on-time reporting to enable root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Experience leading improvement projects and change initiatives.
  • Analytical thinking with data-driven decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communications to instruct, train, and coach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across sites.
  • Open mindset to transfer best practices to the plant.
  • Project management experience with structured leadership and oversight.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong presence on the shop floor.
  • Business fluent English.

Responsibilities

  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead CI projects on cost, quality, delivery and productivity.
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and KAIZEN.
  • Lead cost-saving projects to reduce major losses at the plant.
  • Search for opportunities to improve OEE, promote production flow, and increase product quality.
  • Eliminate wastes and improve energy efficiency.
  • Analyze processes and data to identify inefficiencies and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Manage CI project teams and guide implementation.
  • Develop CI philosophy with new KPIs and standards and educate managers.
  • Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and problem-solving sessions.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality and logistics to optimize processes.
  • Monitor and report CI KPIs and impact.
  • Support new processes, technologies and best practices adoption.
  • Provide training and coaching on Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment with plant and company strategy.
  • Participate in cross-functional and international projects sharing best practices.
  • Support standardization and documentation of processes.

Job description

Reporting to the Plant Manager your mission will be to strengthening and developing the philosophy of continuous improvement implemented at the plant—based on Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen initiatives—through training, motivating, and guiding employees to implement continuous changes aimed at improving the availability, efficiency, and quality of processes..

Responsibilities:
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement projects focused on cost, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Leading and coordinating engineering projects related to Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and KAIZEN.
  • Leading and coordinating cost-saving projects focused on reducing major losses at the plant.
  • Search for project opportunities to increase OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency)/machine uptime, promote Production Flow/Pull (inventory Turns), increase Product quality, communication efficiency, Safety level.)
  • Eliminate all types of waste (lead scrap, lead variance, labour efficiency, energy consumption).
  • Analyze processes and performance data to identify inefficiencies and propose sustainable solutions
  • Managing and coordinating continuous improvement project teams..
  • Develop continuous improvement philosophy in operations through new KPIs and Standards management and helping other managers, educating them to grow towards this philosophy
  • Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and problem-solving sessions
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to optimize processes .
  • Monitor and report KPIs related to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support implementation of new processes, technologies, and best practices
  • Provide training and coaching to employees and managers on Lean tools and methodologies
  • Ensure alignment of improvement initiatives with plant and company strategy
  • Participate in cross-functional and international projects, sharing best practices across sites
  • Support standardization and documentation of processes
Required education/experience/skills:
  • University degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or related field
  • Practical experience in manufacturing operations, including a solid understanding of day-to-day production processes and effective partnership with production operators and shop-floor teams.
  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvement tools within production environments and select the right approach to support specific operational and business needs throughout the plant improvement plan.
  • Able to lead short teams of production, maintenance, quality, process.
  • Demonstrated ability to rigorously follow up on action plans and ensuring commitments are delivered, and taking ownership of critical actions to achieve targeted results.
  • Knowledge about lean and Six Sigma methodology and tools.
  • Leads and challenges the team to provide reliable, on-time reporting that facilitates root cause identification and effective corrective actions. Actively monitors daily operations, anticipating issues and driving continuous improvement .
  • Experience in leading improvement projects and change initiatives .
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates ability to analyze data and metrics to create understanding, feed sound decision making, problem solve and manage performance and progress over time.
  • Proven skills in effective verbal and written communications to be able to deliver right and precise instructions, training and coaching, and complete picture about the topics managed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Open mindset to look other plants best practices and learn from others, being able to transfer this to the plant.
  • Works collaboratively with others to achieve group goals and objectives. Motivate employee awareness to reach KPI targets.
  • Proven knowledge and demonstrated skills in Project Management, use of a structured approach to project leadership, project status management and oversight.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong presence on the shop floor
