We are looking for a Senior Lead Engineer – Concept Development to drive strategic manufacturing initiatives, factory concepts, and production innovation across a global organisation.
In this role, you will act as a technical leader and trusted partner to key stakeholders, leading complex concept development projects from initial idea generation through implementation. You will play a critical role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), future factory planning, manufacturing strategy, and operational excellence initiatives.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Strategic Manufacturing Development
- Lead strategic manufacturing and Concept Development projects.
- Develop business cases and present investment proposals to stakeholders.
- Define future manufacturing concepts, production systems, and factory solutions.
- Support global manufacturing strategy and long-term business objectives.
Process & Factory Design
- Design and optimise production layouts, material flows, and manufacturing routings.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new products, technologies, equipment, and production concepts.
- Drive process improvements focused on efficiency, productivity, automation, scalability, and sustainability.
- Lead value stream mapping, process optimisation, and analytical manufacturing assessments.
Project Leadership & Innovation
- Manage complex cross-functional projects with global stakeholders.
- Perform risk assessments, investment analyses, and technical evaluations.
- Facilitate workshops on concept development, manufacturing design, and process optimisation.
- Identify emerging technologies and industry trends that can create competitive advantages.
Global Standards & Technical Leadership
- Develop and maintain manufacturing concept standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for manufacturing concept development.
- Mentor and coach engineers while supporting capability development across teams.
- Influence technical decisions across multiple organisational levels.
What We Are Looking For:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
- Strong expertise in manufacturing processes, industrial engineering, and production systems
- Advanced knowledge of factory planning, production layouts, and material flow optimisation
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing readiness activities
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Experience conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and business case evaluations
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and influence decisions within a global, multicultural environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
