Job summary

Konecranes is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the Horizontal & Yard Technology team. You will commission automated cranes, integrate with customer systems, and report progress to stakeholders while collaborating with an international team.

You will travel extensively (200+ days/year) and work through all project stages from design to implementation, ensuring on-time delivery and system readiness. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Automation or Electrics.
• Experience with PLC programming and Ethernet-based device communication.
• Reading electrical drawings and using automation software (TIA Portal, S7).
• Willingness to travel 200+ days per year, often 6–8 weeks at a time.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Commission automated cranes and related systems, including interfaces to customer systems.
• Report commissioning progress to stakeholders.
• Work closely with customers during commissioning with clear communication.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Test systems with customers, including long testing phases (2–3 weeks).
