Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS Migration & Security) to drive a hybrid, time-boxed cloud migration and security-hardening initiative. You will split time between SRE/operations and hands-on development across multiple teams, migrating services to AWS and strengthening security posture.

The role emphasizes infrastructure as code with Terraform, AWS networking, EKS, and container workloads, with a focus on security remediation and modern deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of DevOps experience in production environments.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production.
• Proven Kubernetes and EKS experience.
• Terraform and IaC skills required.
• Experience with Docker and containerised workloads.
• Experience with cloud migration projects (Azure→AWS).
• Excellent English communication skills and timezone overlap with Toronto.

Responsibilities

• Migrate services from Azure to AWS and manage migrations.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure with Terraform.
• Work with AWS EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and container workloads.
• Configure AWS networking (VPCs, IAM, load balancers).
• Support migrations across accounts and teams.
• Identify and remediate security issues (secrets, keys, dependencies).
• Apply security patches and Dependabot remediation.
• Contribute to CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Use observability tools (Datadog, New Relic; migrate to Grafana).
• Make config/code changes to support migration and security.
• Collaborate across teams to minimize disruption.
• Document changes and procedures.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity.
