Job summary

Winged IT is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the System Engineering department in Bielsko-Biała. The role focuses on AWS management, migration of on-prem workloads to the cloud, and contributing to Azure multi-cloud initiatives.

You will collaborate with an international team across Europe, North America, and Asia to ensure secure, stable infrastructure. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in cloud infra, strong AWS and Linux skills, Terraform experience, and English communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance AWS infrastructure: account, landing zone, network, security, governance.
• Coordinate server migrations from on-prem to AWS with assessment, scheduling, cutover, post-migration improvements.
• Configure and support cloud connectivity: VPCs, routing, VPNs, site-to-site, connections to offices across regions.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automate ops tasks.
• Establish cloud monitoring, centralized logging, backups, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Apply cloud security standards: IAM, least-privilege, encryption, baselines with security team.
• Track cloud consumption, identify cost-saving opportunities, report usage and expenditure.
• Assist with developing multi-cloud environment, initial Azure work.
• Keep documentation and run books up to date.
• Collaborate with infra ops, cybersecurity specialists, and external providers.

Job description

Location: Bielsko-Biała (remote work, with 2 days a month in the office)

Rate: 12 300 – 18 300 PLN on Employment Contract

Cooperation model: Employment Contract

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our System Engineering department and support the development of our cloud infrastructure. The main focus will be managing the existing AWS platform and delivering the transition of on-premises servers to the cloud. You will also contribute to preparations for introducing Microsoft Azure as part of a broader multi-cloud approach.

You will work closely with an international IT team responsible for delivering secure, stable, and efficient infrastructure for manufacturing facilities and commercial offices across multiple regions.

Your role is:

• Manage and enhance the AWS infrastructure, including account structure, landing zone configuration, network setup, security controls, and governance.
• Coordinate server migration activities from local data centres to AWS, covering infrastructure assessment, dependency analysis, migration scheduling, cutover, and post-migration improvements.
• Configure and support cloud connectivity, including VPCs, routing, site-to-site VPNs, and connections to offices and facilities across Europe, North America, and Asia.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, while automating routine operational activities.
• Establish and maintain cloud monitoring, centralised logging, backup processes, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Apply cloud security standards, including IAM configuration, least-privilege access, encryption, and security baselines, in collaboration with the security team.
• Track cloud resource consumption, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare regular reports on usage and expenditure.
• Assist with the development of the organisation’s multi-cloud environment, including initial work on the Azure platform.
• Keep technical documentation, configuration records, and operational guidelines up to date.
• Work with infrastructure operations, cybersecurity specialists, and external service providers to deliver reliable solutions.

Your skills and experiences:

• 3+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, system engineering, or system administration.
• Practical knowledge of AWS services, particularly EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, AWS Backup, and AWS Organizations.
• Experience moving servers and workloads from on-premises environments to the cloud, using approaches such as rehosting, replatforming, or infrastructure consolidation.
• Good Linux administration skills, including system troubleshooting, security hardening, and automation.
• Understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code practices; scripting knowledge in PowerShell or Python would be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work independently in a structured manner.
• Good command of English and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical team and business stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Exposure to Amazon Bedrock or other AWS-based AI services.
• Relevant certifications, for example AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft AZ-104.
