Job summary

Lingaro is seeking a Data Engineer with strong GCP expertise to design and implement scalable data pipelines. You will model data from diverse sources, optimize storage, and ensure high performance across data platforms. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct client interaction are core parts of the role.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data engineering, deep GCP knowledge, and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, DBT/Dataform, and Airflow, along with programming in SQL and Python.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud services.
• Design, build, and deploy data pipelines in the cloud ingesting data from databases, APIs, or streaming sources.
• Proficient in SQL, BigQuery, and NoSQL databases with performance optimization.
• Programming skills in SQL and Python; scripting languages as applicable.
• Strong data modeling and database optimization, including indexing and tuning.
• Knowledge of orchestration tools (Airflow) and scheduling.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data integration and transforming data for analysis.
• Familiarity with modern data transformation tools (DBT, Dataform).
• Excellent communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Ability to lead discussions with clients on potential improvements.
• Open to learning new technologies and solutions.
• Experience in multinational environment and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and develop GCP data ecosystem for client projects.
• Gather, analyze, document requirements and liaise with clients.
• Model data from diverse sources and resolve complex issues.
• Design and optimize data storage architectures and improve retrieval.
• Identify bottlenecks, tune queries, and implement caching strategies.
• Monitor performance and conduct root cause analyses for data ops.
• Train and mentor junior data engineers.
