High 5 Games is seeking a Director of Technology to serve as a hands-on chief architect for a cloud-based platform built on hundreds of Java microservices handling millions of real-time transactions daily.

You will shape the technical vision, own the architecture end-to-end over the first year, and lead engineering teams while communicating strategy to executives and partners in a regulated gaming context.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years as architect.
• Expert level Java (17+) with Spring Boot/Cloud and JVM tuning.
• Proven track record operating 100+ microservices in production.

Responsibilities

• Own the microservices platform architecture domain by domain for the first year.
• Design patterns for distributed transactions, retries, and failure recovery.
• Lead architecture reviews and maintain ADRs across services.
• Translate business goals into a technology roadmap and plan.
