Job summary

Umicore Market Solutions, a global advanced materials and recycling group, is seeking a chemist. You will perform physicochemical analyses using spectroscopy (XRF, ICP), oversee analytical instrumentation, and prepare samples for testing to support quality control.

We require a higher degree in chemistry, experience with spectroscopy, and strong documentation skills. English and German language abilities are desirable, and SAP or LIMS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• Experience with spectroscopy is required or advantageous.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform physicochemical analyses using spectroscopy techniques such as XRF and ICP.
• Oversee analytical instrumentation: calibration and maintenance.
• Prepare samples for testing: dilution, extraction, homogenization, weighing.
• Validate and verify analytical methods.
• Develop and update documentation: procedures, operating instructions, and reports.

Your Key Accountabilities

• Wykonywanie analiz fizykochemicznych z wykorzystaniem technik spektroskopowych takich jak XRF, ICP:
  • jakościowych i ilościowych surowców,
  • półproduktów oraz produktów końcowych,
• Nadzór nad aparaturą kontrolno-pomiarową:
  • kalibracja, konserwacja,
  • kontrola jakości działania.
• Przygotowywanie próbek do badań:
  • rozcieńczanie, ekstrakcja, homogenizacja, ważenie itp.
• Walidacja i weryfikacja metod analitycznych.
• Opracowywanie i aktualizacja dokumentacji:
  • procedur badawczych,
  • instrukcji operacyjnych,
  • raportów z badań.

Who we are looking for

• Wykształcenie wyższe chemiczne.
• Umiejętność pracy z dokumentacją techniczną.
• Doświadczenie w pracy z metodami spektroskopowymi (znajomość analizy XRF, ICP jako dodatkowy atut).
• Znajomość języka angielskiego (niemieckiego) - komunikatywny w mowie i piśmie.
• Mile widziane doświadczenie w pracy w laboratorium, w branży automotive.
• Mile widziana znajomość oprogramowania SAP oraz LIMS.
