Job summary

Aptiv Kraków is seeking a Category Buyer for Connection Systems to implement and execute a purchasing strategy across current and new parts. You will manage the portfolio with support from the Category Manager to achieve SCM objectives.

The role requires 3–5 years of purchasing experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing global environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers, driving year-over-year cost reductions.
• Develop and manage supplier strategies, including selection, rationalization, and partnerships.
• Lead RFQ and sourcing activities for programs, aligning with cost, quality and timing targets.
• Create, negotiate, and maintain framework agreements in line with SCM policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard suppliers for new product development.
• Monitor supplier performance and quality metrics with Supplier Development teams to resolve issues.
• Analyze market trends, raw material costs, logistics, labor rates, and currency fluctuations to optimize strategies.
• Work with global sourcing and category teams to build supplier bid lists and support strategic procurement initiatives.

Category Buyer Connection Systems

The holder of the position is responsible to put in place and execute a purchasing strategy for all current and new parts belonging to his/her portfolio. He/she should manage parts under his responsibility with a help and support from his/her Category Manager/Direct Supervisor, within a frame of SCM business plan and use his/her creativity bringing with new methods material performance to the SCM overall result.

Role and Responsibilities

• Negotiated commercial agreements with suppliers, driving year-over-year cost reductions and achieving sourcing objectives.
• Developed and managed supplier strategies, including supplier selection, rationalization, and long-term partnership planning.
• Led RFQ and sourcing activities for new and ongoing programs, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Created, negotiated, and maintained framework agreements in compliance with SCM policies and procedures.
• Collaborated with cross-functional teams to identify and onboard suppliers for new product development programs.
• Monitored supplier performance and quality metrics, partnering with Supplier Development teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
• Analyzed market trends, raw material costs, logistics, labor rates, and currency fluctuations to optimize procurement strategies and mitigate risks.
• Worked closely with global sourcing and category teams to build supplier bid lists, conduct competitive sourcing events, and support strategic procurement initiatives.

Your Background

• Master’s Degree from commercial or/and technical university, preferred mechanical/chemical/technical background
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience
• Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Highly motivated / capable of operating with minimal guidance
• Strategic planning and execution
• Good knowledge of MS Office English speaking
