Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a skilled CAD modeller to help train and evaluate AI agents operating in a real CAD environment on long engineering tasks. You will design part geometry, build reference solutions, and assess the agent’s attempts, working alongside CFD engineers who simulate the geometry you build.

This role requires a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master's or PhD a plus) and minimum 5 years of CAD modelling experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo, or similar.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; master's or PhD is a plus.
• At least 5 years of hands-on CAD modelling experience with major tools.
• Active professional CAD license required.
• Proficiency in Python and GitHub; strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate AI agents within a real CAD environment on complex tasks.
• Design part geometry and build reference solutions for evaluation.
• Judge agent attempts and provide actionable feedback.
• Collaborate with CFD engineers who simulate the geometry.

About The Role

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's or PhD is a plus
• 5+ years of professional, hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar). Experience preparing geometry for simulation (ANSYS or similar) is a strong plus
• An active professional CAD licence of your own (required)
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub
• English at B2 level or above

Project time expectations

For this project, tasks are estimated to require around 10-20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active.

Compensation

On this project, contributors can earn up to $50 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution.

Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please note that other projects on the platform may offer different earning levels based on their requirements.
