Job summary

Umicore is seeking a Business Process Professional-SME Analytical Lab to drive continuous improvement across the Analytical Lab landscape. The role focuses on cost-sensitive process optimization, KPI standardization, and OE governance.

You will mentor colleagues, lead major improvement projects, benchmark best practices, and work with site management across the AL organization to implement efficient processes and financial modeling improvements.

Qualifications

• The holder of this position will manage continuous improvement across the AL landscape and be accountable for results, with KPI-based standards.
• Drive cost metadata and task ownership for business results in the AL area.
• Lead significant improvement projects delivering tangible business benefits.
• Identify opportunities with site management to improve processes.
• Benchmark best practices within AL, coordinating with Analytical Technology and SME domains.
• Roll out KPIs and standardize targets across the organization, enabling performance tracking.
• Gatekeeper of OE processes, policies and framework.
• Drive OE maturity assessments and support area roadmaps across AL.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues in Operational Excellence.
• Willingness to travel to other Business Units in different countries.

Your Key Accountabilities

• Drive of continuous improvement across the AL landscape, managing projects with important cost savings impact and being accountable for the result, creating/standardizing KPI to measure performance as well as creating optimal standards based on best practices.
• Follow up on the site cost meta data and cost relevant to the subject matter and has a (shared) accountability for business result in the AL area
• Lead important improvement projects to deliver tangible improvement to the business.
• Drive (together with relevant site management) identification of improvement opportunities
• Manage benchmarking of best practices with a clear trajectory and plan of implementation across the AL organization and managing an AL continuous improvement community and AL subject matter expertise areas together with Analytical Technology organization
• Manage and roll out relevant subject matter KPI across the organization, assure standardization, facilitate challenging target setting and follow up on performance
• Manage / benchmark subject matter cost metadata/drivers, follow up on cost performance of the sites in relation to the subject matter and support cost target settings for the site as well as for budgeting and financial modeling
• Gatekeeper of the process, policy and framework
• Manage the AL OE roadmap by driving systematic OE maturity assessments across the AL organization and supporting area’s OE roadmaps to remain on track
• Support as mentor/coach less experienced colleagues in the area of Operational Excellence
• Be able to travel to other Business Units in different countries

Who we are looking for

The holder of this position is able to manage continuous improvement projects and is the gatekeeper of the application of the OE process, framework, tools withing the AL environment.

As Subject Matter Expert (SME) will manage/support benchmarking of best practices, efficiency, performance and optimization and assure standardization across the AL landscape.

Looking for a certified Black belt.

We are looking for a person who will be able to work in Nysa or Hobboken
