We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a Markets & Securities Services / Product Control function within a leading global investment banking organisation.
The role is part of a multi-year transformation programme focused on enhancing financial infrastructure, data quality, P&L processes and collaboration between Product Control, Traded Risk, Finance and Technology teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst with strong exposure to Global Markets, Product Control, financial data or trading environments, who enjoys working across business and technology teams and translating complex processes into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and document FX position and P&L processes, including how data is captured within Product Control and shared with Traded Risk.
- Work closely with Traded Risk and Product Control stakeholders to understand processes, identify gaps and improve data flows.
- Analyse P&L Explain data exceptions, investigate root causes and support the implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Improve the governance and transparency of Product Control adjustments by analysing adjustment data and root-cause information.
- Work with business teams to improve the quality and consistency of data captured during adjustment processes.
- Support the development of improved tools and reporting capabilities to simplify and enhance adjustment-review processes.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements and translate them into clear project documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to agree appropriate solutions and ensure requirements are effectively delivered.
- Work closely with IT and development teams, including teams located internationally, to support solution design and delivery.
- Participate in testing, implementation and go-live activities, ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
- Produce clear business analysis, process and design documentation in line with established project governance standards.
- Support the Change Manager with project analysis, estimates, documentation and delivery activities.
- Identify conflicting requirements, potential rework and delivery risks and proactively escalte them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and ensure processes and documentation are effectively handed over to business teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working within Markets & Securities Services, Global Markets, Product Control, Finance or a related financial-services environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets products and processes, ideally including FX.
- At least 2 years of project delivery or Business Analysis experience, preferably in a complex banking or financial-services environment.
- Experience working on projects involving data quality, data governance, data lineage or financial data transformation.
- Good understanding of the project lifecycle and experience working with business and technology teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to investigate complex data issues, identify root causes and translate findings into actionable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams and senior management.
- Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider project team.
- Strong organisational skills and a delivery-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- A professional accounting qualification or part-qualification would be an advantage.
- A recognised project or Business Analysis qualification would be beneficial.
