Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow, Poland, invites applications for the position of Assistant (post-doc) in the Theoretical and Experimental Biocatalysis group to support the OPUS LAP PHA-CURE project led by M.Guzik.

The successful candidate will optimize polyhydroxyalkanoate fermentation, produce and characterize biomaterials with surface and structural analysis, and collaborate with a PhD student on recombinant protein expression,

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent as required by the NCN rules for postdocs.
• At least 4 years of research experience with publications in JCR-listed journals.
• Experience leading national and international research projects.
• At least 4 months of foreign research internship.
• Proven laboratory work in biomaterials and surface characterization.
• Excellent English (C1) with strong communication skills.
• Teamwork and high motivation for scientific research.

Responsibilities

• Optimization of polyhydroxyalkanoate fermentation processes.
• Production of biomaterials and their characterization using advanced methods.
• Collaboration with a PhD student on expression of recombinant proteins.
• Supervision of interns and PhD students in the research group.
• Participation in planning, conducting research and analyzing results.
• Preparing scientific publications and presenting at conferences.
