Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a bank accounting professional within its Global Business Services (GBS) organization to provide high-quality accounting services across the Americas and EMEA. You will perform bank accounting activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and monthly close, while ensuring SOX compliance and GAAP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in bank accounting would be an advantage.
• Experience with SAP and SAP S/4HANA would be an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong customer relationship management skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to collaborate with teams across different global time zones.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze bank accounting information, prepare financial reports, and post general ledger journal entries.
• Support bank accounting processes, including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
• Establish, maintain, and communicate accounting procedures while ensuring compliance with SOX controls, GAAP, and applicable accounting standards.
• Collaborate with EY and the SOX management team to respond to audit requests and provide required documentation.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices.
• Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process standardization across multiple legal entities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and local sites to ensure all relevant perspectives are considered when implementing changes and improvements.
• Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders, including responding to urgent and ad hoc requests.
• Lead or support finance and accounting projects, including updates to accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor and deliver agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) and service levels.
• Support the development of junior accountants through knowledge sharing, guidance, and mentorship.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

About the Role

This role operates within Boston Scientific’s Global Business Services (GBS) organization, providing high-quality accounting expertise and services across the Americas and EMEA regions.

The position involves performing a range of moderately complex to complex bank accounting activities, including account analysis, journal entries, financial reporting, system interface management, and monthly financial close and consolidation processes.
