Job summary

Talanto in Warszawa is seeking a Backend Developer to join our Customs Technology Team. You will design, develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin, build integrations, and deliver REST APIs in a cloud-based environment.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Architects and QA, optimize performance, and contribute to scalable distributed systems across a global logistics network.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend development using Kotlin.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with system integrations and API-based communication.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and modern software architecture principles.
• Understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns.
• Experience with Git and software development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to ownership.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• English proficiency allowing daily cooperation with international stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications supporting customs and logistics processes.
• Build scalable and reliable integrations between internal and external systems.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and event-driven solutions.
• Work with relational databases, ensuring high performance and data quality.
• Participate in the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, and other development teams.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
