Job summary

DSV Road GmbH in Warszawa is seeking a Backend Developer specializing in Kotlin to join the Customs Technology Team. You will design, build, and maintain backend applications that power customs operations across a global logistics network.

You will develop scalable integrations, REST APIs, and cloud-based solutions, work with SQL databases, and collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and other dev teams to deliver robust, high-performance software at scale.

Qualifications

• Proficient in backend development using Kotlin.
• Strong SQL and relational database design.
• Experience with API integrations and event-driven patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices.
• Understanding distributed systems and integration patterns.
• GIT workflow and code review practices.
• Effective communication with global stakeholders.
• English proficiency for cross-border collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications supporting customs and logistics processes
• Build scalable and reliable integrations between internal and external systems
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and event-driven solutions
• Work with relational databases, ensuring high performance and data quality
• Participate in the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, and other development teams
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational excellence
