Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company hiring in Poland to strengthen the Recoveries team within Repayments. You will lead engineers to achieve quarterly goals, collaborate with product, design and analytics, and drive scalable backend systems using Python, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes, and React.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Backend design, development, and scaling with Python, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience shipping web apps using React.
• Experience designing and operating batch processing or asynchronous workloads.
• Defined a technical plan for delivering a significant feature with clean, extensible design.
• Able to make significant changes safely in a large code base.
• Strong communication and collaboration with a global engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and decision-making.
• Identify and solve project, process, technology, or business issues and advocate for solutions.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts; monitor metrics and handle on-call duties.
• Set or improve code review and design standards and promote them beyond your team.
• Develop talent by giving feedback and mentoring teammates.
