Lever, Inc. is seeking a senior Python backend engineer to design, build, and maintain robust backend services. You will design RESTful APIs and microservices, deploy on Azure, and champion CI/CD, testing, and production readiness. Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, GraphQL, and modern security practices is valued.

You’ll join an Agile/Scrum team, collaborate with global engineers, and have flexibility to work remotely or in the office as appropriate.

Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Work with Microsoft Azure (priority) to design, deploy, and manage cloud solutions.(Experience with GCP is acceptable as an alternative.)
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team and participate in code reviews, planning, and architecture discussions.

Additional Expected Skills:

• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.

• Experience with cloud architecture patterns, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with testing practices (unit, integration, e2e) and code quality tools.

• Version control proficiency (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• Understanding of security best practices in cloud/backend environments.

• Ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams and communicate effectively in English.

What we are looking for?

• Strong commercial experience in Python backend development (senior level).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (priority) — designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with GCP is acceptable as an alternative.
• Proven experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI and/or Django.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
• Practical experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
