Job summary

HelloFresh's Warsaw-based HelloTech team is seeking a senior backend engineer to lead architecture for AI-powered experiences, spanning unified conversational search, personalized recommendations, and proactive in-app features. You will own LLM integration decisions, balance latency and cost, and partner with cross-functional teams to maintain coherent architecture as the product expands across surfaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience in distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in Go and at least one of Java/Kotlin/Python/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture for unified AI Assistant experiences across surfaces.
• Own end-to-end decisions for LLM integration in production systems.
• Act as technical bridge between Shopping AI & Search squads and product stakeholders.
• Define and drive engineering best practices for AI-powered systems.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, design discussions, and mentoring.
• Use AI coding tools regularly to guide engineering practices.
