Svitla Systems Inc. seeks an Automation QA Engineer for a full-time hybrid role in Kraków. You will help build reliable web, mobile, and API platforms, focusing on scalable automated tests across modules.

Role requires 4+ years in automation, strong frontend Playwright skills, API testing, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions. Office presence in Kraków three days a week with flexible options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an Automation QA Engineer.
• Strong frontend test automation using Playwright; backend API testing.
• The ability to quickly learn and understand business requirements and the domain.
• Understanding of backend testing frameworks (e.g., REST Assured, Karate) for API-level testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, and tools like Postman.
• Familiarity with service mocking and contract testing tools (WireMock, Pact) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate early with engineering to influence requirements and test strategy for frontend journeys, backend services, and APIs.
• Design, develop, and execute test suites for functional, regression, end-to-end UI tests, and customer journeys.
• Automate frontend tests using Playwright; Selenium and Cucumber are beneficial.
• Automate service tests with REST Assured, JUnit, Karate DSL, Postman/Newman/Bruno.
• Validate service interactions and data flows across distributed systems.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and maintain environments.
• Prepare and present clear test reports documenting coverage, results, and defects.
• Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure maintainability.
• Manage test cases and cycles using Jira Zephyr.
• Define and implement a robust framework for automated frontend testing with Playwright.
• Ensure end-to-end coverage across frontend, backend, and integrations with multiple services.
• Leverage AI-supported tools to enhance test design, execution, and maintenance.
• Align with the company's AQA practices for consistency.

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Automation QA Engineer for a full-time hybrid position (40 hours per week) in Kraków. Our client is one of the world's largest food retailers.

You’ll join the team to help build reliable, scalable, and high-quality products across web, mobile, and API platforms. If you thrive on solving complex problems, automating at scale, and working in a collaborative environment, this will be the perfect place for you.

Office work in Kraków is expected 3 days per week (but some flexibility is possible).

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as an Automation QA Engineer.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies with a focus on frontend test automation using Playwright, complemented by backend testing experience across APIs and microservices.
• The ability to quickly learn and understand business requirements and the domain.
• Understanding of backend testing frameworks (e.g., REST Assured, Karate) for API-level testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, eventing and tools like Postman, Bruno or Insomnia.
• Familiarity with service mocking and contract testing tools (e.g., WireMock, Pact) is a plus.

• Experience in building and maintaining testing environments.
