Job summary

Larian Studios in Warsaw is seeking an Associate Engine Lead Programmer to guide our Engine team and drive the development of our next generation game engine. You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure high quality, performant code and deliverables on multiple platforms.

You will mentor engineers, participate in recruiting, and help shape the engine architecture while maintaining strong coding standards and a focus on game performance.

Qualifications

• Lead or management experience required.
• Extensive experience programming for games.
• Excellent C++ skills.
• Upper-intermediate English.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and coach our Engine team.
• Assist with recruiting of Engine Programmers.
• Manage code reviews and code features documentation.
• Work in tandem with Larian Studios other programming Leads.
• Assist in maintaining, porting and extending our proprietary engine on multiple platforms.
• Debug and optimize code to hit quality and performance targets.
• Show a strong passion for low level coding and a big interest in performance analysis.
• Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard.
• Develop well designed software within project schedule to team standards.
• Show strong passion for making the highest quality state of the art games.
• Communicate in English and Russian freely.
• Safeguard company assets including source code, art work, tools, technical know-how

Requirements

• Demonstrable Lead or Management experience
• Extensive experience programming for games
• Excellent C++ skills
• Strong mentor and coaching ability
• Strong technical background (Bachelor/Master degree in computer science)
• Upper-intermediate English
• Passion for making and playing great games
• Experience with graphics APIs like Directx 12 and Vulkan
• Experience with a wide range of CPU and GPU profiling tools
• Multi threading should be second nature
