Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an Associate Director-level Project Manager to provide strategic leadership on a major central London development valued at around £500 million. You will guide the early design and mobilisation, appoint design and consultant teams and drive the programme toward delivery.

The candidate will have delivered large-scale projects (£100–£150M), with experience in developer, investor or client-side environments, and a strong grasp of governance, procurement and risk

Qualifications

• Significant experience at Associate Director or equivalent level.
• Led projects valued at more than £100 million to £150 million.
• Experience with developer/investor/client-side organisations or development managers.
• Strong knowledge of major commercial, mixed-use or central London developments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant and design teams in early project stages.
• Excellent understanding of governance, procurement, programme management and risk.
• Ability to lead and motivate an established Project Management team and report to senior client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic project leadership across a complex, large-scale development.
• Lead, manage and develop the project management team.
• Support the appointment and mobilisation of design and consultant teams.
• Establish robust project governance, reporting and decision-making processes.
• Oversee programme, risk, procurement, commercial performance and stakeholder management.
• Act as a senior point of contact for the client and project team.
• Challenge consultants and contractors to protect the programme and outcomes.
• Maintain clear, transparent reporting throughout the project.
• Ensure procurement decisions meet Highly Accountable procurement standards.
• Identify and resolve strategic risks before delivery.
• Support the project director and peers in reporting to board level.
