The Rector of Medical University of Gdańsk announces an open competition for the position of

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ADULT NEUROLOGY

THE TASKS OF A PERSON EMPLOYED AT THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

• conducting and documenting teaching activities, especially those of a seminar or practical nature (exercises, laboratories, practical classes),
• significant participation in organizational work for the benefit of the University and the unit,
• improvement of teaching or professional qualifications, including improvement of English language skills and completion of a course in the methodology of academic didactics, as well as through documented participation in training courses and conferences,
• significant publication and conference activity of a teaching or popularizing nature (including popular science articles, review articles and the like).

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:

• possession of at least a doctoral degree,
• having significant teaching or professional experience,
• involvement in the organization of teaching or technological processes.

JOB ROLE REQUIREMENTS IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT:

• completed master's degree in medicine,
• doctorate in medical sciences,
• specialization in neurology,
• knowledge of English certified by CAE,
• knowledge of Polish sufficient to conduct classes with students in Polish.

EXPECTED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• at least 4 years of teaching experience at a university and having positive evaluations from superiors and students,
• participation in organizational work for teaching or leadership of a project of a teaching nature (e.g., implementation of a new subject, new teaching concept), and in the absence of leadership, the candidate should demonstrate: a) co-authorship in at least one script or academic textbook, or b) authorship of a work disseminating scientific achievements,
• scientific achievements should be at least 4.0 pts. IF,
• possession of an appropriate specialization, if employment is to be made in a position requiring the combination of teaching duties with the provision of health services, and the relevant regulations provide for such specialization, or at least 4 years of work experience closely related to the prospect of employment and documented involvement in the organization of technological processes.

COMPETITION PROCEDURE:

Candidates who meet the requirements of an Act on Higher Education and Science (requirements referred to in art.113), including:

• meeting the requirements specified in the above mentioned Act and the statute of MUG,
• being not punished by any disciplinary penalty referred to in art. 276 paragraph 1 points 7 and 8 of the above mentioned Act,
• meeting the requirements referred to in art. 20 clause 1 points 1-3 of the above mentioned Act,
• stating that, in case of winning this competition, Medical University of Gdansk will be the candidates’ primary place of employment as defined by the above mentioned Act may enter the competition.

• The deadline for applying is 14.02.2026 at 23.59 - the date and time recorded by the recruitment system is applicable.
• The result of the competition is settled based on the analysis of the documentation submitted by the candidates.

• The final decision about employment of a candidate recommended by Competition Committee, is made by the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
