Application Engineer | Intralogistics / Warehouse Automation
We are supporting a leading international warehouse automation and intralogistics solutions provider in the search for an Application Engineer.
This is a technically focused, customer-facing role where you will develop customer-specific intralogistics concepts, work closely with Sales and Project teams, and help translate customer requirements into commercially viable technical solutions.
The Role
As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing customer-specific intralogistics system concepts and layouts, balancing functionality, technical feasibility and cost
- Working closely with Sales during the quotation and concept phase to provide technical expertise and customer-focused solution arguments
- Estimating hardware, software and engineering requirements to support accurate project costing
- Preparing technical proposals covering system functionality, interfaces, scope of supply and services
- Evaluating external suppliers and subcontracted elements in collaboration with Procurement
- Ensuring clear, structured technical documentation and handover to Project Engineering and implementation teams
- Building and sharing knowledge of intralogistics systems, technologies and applications
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes and methodologies
- Representing the company at customer meetings, industry events, conferences and trade fairs
Travel: Approximately 10‑25%.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering or a comparable technical discipline — equivalent professional experience will also be considered
- Professional experience developing technical concepts, system solutions or layouts
- Understanding of intralogistics, material handling or warehouse automation systems
- Ability to understand the interdependencies between different automation and material-flow technologies
- Experience in a customer-facing engineering, applications, pre-sales or solution engineering environment is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to technical requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Project Management
- Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently
- Strong willingness to continuously develop technical and industry knowledge
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Additional European language skills are advantageous
