Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates seeks a Junior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to bridge AI development with real-world shop floor operations. You will embed with frontline teams on site, translating challenges into AI prototypes and collaborating with senior engineers.

You will code in Python, learn GenAI frameworks, and work closely with business teams to deliver production‑ready prototypes and data pipelines for manufacturing and logistics use cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of professional software/data engineering or digital tech delivery.
• Robust Python (Pandas, NumPy, requests) and software fundamentals (OOP, REST APIs).
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini) and basic RAG architectures.
• Proficient with SQL and querying relational databases.
• Excellent communication, willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Frontline Shadowing: participate in site visits to understand bottlenecks firsthand.
• Requirements Translation: translate feedback into structured user stories, specs, and flows.
• Active Scrum Participant: maintain backlog and participate in standups.
• Hands‑on Coding: write clean, documented Python for AI prototypes.
• Support RAG & multi‑agent systems: tune pipelines and workflows.
• APIs: assist in connecting AI apps to shop floor platforms.
• Data Wrangling: prepare unstructured data and SQL exports for AI ingestion.
