Job summary

Akamai Inference Cloud team is building a global AI inference platform under Akamai's Cloud Technology Group. You will lead design and implementation of foundational platform components for high performance, scalable services, including API infrastructure and Kubernetes orchestration.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design and operate distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with API platforms and security patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of core Akamai Inference Cloud components for scale and reliability.
• Drive technical decisions on tools, frameworks, and architecture for secure, scalable infra services.
• Evolve platform capabilities: authentication, load balancing, rate limiting, firewall integration, APIs patterns.
• Design and improve data plane APIs including OpenAI-compatible interfaces.
• Define observability with metrics, logs, traces, and diagnostics for distributed systems.
