Job summary

Intel Corporation invites a motivated student to join the PyTorch enablement team as an intern. You will help bring Intel datacenter and integrated GPU acceleration to PyTorch, working with engineers on PyTorch and ecosystem projects such as torch-xpu-ops.

This role offers hands-on experience in deep learning framework internals, GPU compute stacks, and platform engineering, with code that ships to millions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE with at least two years completed.
• Strong Python programming skills demonstrated in projects or coursework.
• Basic familiarity with C/C++ and systems concepts.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Good knowledge of Git and collaborative software development practices.
• Able to leverage AI tools to assist software development.

Responsibilities

• Implement, debug, and test PyTorch operators/kernels for the Intel GPU backend.
• Investigate OS builds, tests, and runtime issues in PyTorch and related projects.
• Write unit tests, triage CI failures, and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with the upstream PyTorch community via PRs and reviews.
• Contribute to internal knowledge base with findings and guidance.
