Job summary

Allianz Partners in Warszawa seeks an Engineering Manager (AI) to lead applied AI, ML and conversational AI delivery teams. You will own people management, hiring, performance reviews, and delivery leadership across agent-based and voice AI services integrated with insurance products.

You will collaborate with the AI Governance forum and cross-functional engineering leaders to shape hiring standards, roadmaps, and production deployments on Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years engineering experience with at least 3 years in people management leading applied AI, ML, or conversational AI delivery teams.
• Experience managing 6 to 15 engineers across two distinct teams or specialisations.
• Strong technical literacy in the AI stack to mentor without overriding leads.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the AI teams: hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and 1:1s for ML/AI engineers, computational linguists, and AI specialists.
• Balance capacity across agent and voice surfaces in response to demand from domain teams.
• Coordinate embedded AI specialists with backend leadership on domain delivery and central capability building.
• Coach technical leads on prompt engineering, agent design, NLU/NLP, and voice flow design.
• Coordinate AI governance reviews on model choices, data handling, and compliance attestations.
• Balance roadmaps for agent and voice with hybrid use cases and cross-surface delivery.
• Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to optimize production AI services.
• Run hiring loops with rubrics, calibration, and onboarding for AI roles.
