Job summary

CodiLime is seeking an AI Engineer to join a backend-focused team building a large-scale, multi-tenant B2B platform. You will design and operate Python services with FastAPI, implement AI features, and collaborate with data scientists to advance enterprise AI capabilities.

The role emphasizes security, observability, and cost-aware AI workflows, with daily usage of AI coding assistants and close collaboration with product managers and clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering with Python.
• Experience with FastAPI and Pydantic—endpoint design, dependency injection, models and validators, auth and error handling.
• Solid REST API design with OAuth 2.0/Okta, JWT and RBAC.
• Experience with automated testing with pytest.
• Strong SQL fundamentals and PostgreSQL from Python.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into production applications.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex) and validation of output.
• Understanding of multi-tenant SaaS application security.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, testing and operating production Python services with FastAPI.
• Writing and optimizing SQL against PostgreSQL and contributing to schema/data-model decisions.
• Deploying and running services on Kubernetes and considering stateful vs stateless workloads.
• Building and integrating generative AI features that connect LLMs with enterprise data, APIs and tools.
• Evaluating AI workflows and monitoring quality, latency, cost, and failure rates.
• Maintaining a solid automated test suite and helping build automated quality gates.
• Using AI coding assistants effectively while validating all generated output before production.
• Applying security-first thinking across UI, API, and AI workflows.
• Participating in code reviews and documenting data flows and API contracts.
