Job summary

METRO Global Solution Center is seeking an Accountant to manage journal entries, close cycles, and IFRS16-related accounting in Szczecin. You will handle general ledger activities, intercompany reconciliations, and reporting while supporting process improvements.

Requirements include accounting experience, English B1/B2, strong Excel skills, and a relevant economics or accounting degree. Relocation and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Good command of English (B1/B2) in professional context.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage own work.
• Competence in Excel and ability to analyse financial data.
• Educational background in economics or accounting (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities with reconciliations.
• Account for stocks, fixed assets, IFRS16, taxes, and cost provisions.
• Calculate accrued income/expenses and write-downs; assist tax returns.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and group reporting.
• Monitor GL accounts, explain discrepancies, and implement process changes.
