Job summary

NUST in Pakistan invites applications for Vice Principal to provide strategic academic leadership, oversee curriculum implementation, faculty performance, student development, and governance. The role requires minimum 10 years teaching/academic management experience, with 12+ years preferred, along with a Master’s degree in Education or a related field.

Cambridge and national curricula familiarity is an advantage.

Job description

Minimum 10 years ofrelevant teaching and/or academic management experience in a reputable schoolor educational institution, including at least 3–5 years sa Vice Principal / Senior Section Head or academic/administrative leadership position.

Experience with Cambridge and national educationsystems/curricula will be an added advantage.

12 years or more of relevant experience, including substantialexperience in academic leadership, faculty supervision, curriculum management,or institutional administration.

Demonstrated experience in managing academic programmes acrossmultiple educational levels, preferably primary, middle, secondary, and highersecondary.

Experience in academic quality assurance,institutional development, and performance management.

Qualification

Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject from an HEC-recognized university.

M.Ed., M.Phil., or equivalent postgraduate qualification inEducation, Educational Leadership, Educational Management, or a relevantdiscipline.

Postgraduate qualification or professionalcertification in School Leadership, Academic Management, or InstitutionalGovernance.

Key Responsibilities

Toassist the Principal in providing strategic academic leadership and effectiveinstitutional management, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning,curriculum implementation, faculty performance, and student development. TheVice Principal shall oversee academic and administrative operations, superviseand develop teaching staff, ensure compliance with educational standards, anddrive continuous institutional improvement. The position shall exercisedelegated authority in academic and operational matters and ensure effectiveimplementation of institutional policies, plans, and objectives.

• Oversee curriculumimplementation, academic planning, teaching standards, and academic schedules.
• Monitor academicperformance and implement measures to improve teaching quality and studentlearning outcomes.
• Supervise and evaluatefaculty performance, workload, attendance, and professional conduct.
• Conduct classroomobservations and facilitate faculty training, mentoring, and professionaldevelopment.
• Oversee examinations,assessments, result compilation, and student academic progress.
• Ensure student discipline,counselling, remedial support, welfare, and holistic development.
• Manage day-to-day academicand administrative operations, staff assignments, and institutional activities.
• Ensure implementationofinstitutional policies, procedures, and applicable educational regulations.
• Monitor academic standards,curriculum effectiveness, and institutional performance indicators.
• Promote educationalinnovation, continuous improvement, and technology-enabled learning.
• Coordinate with faculty,academic and administrative staff, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
• Exercise delegatedauthority, represent the Principal when assigned, and assume charge during thePrincipal's absence, as authorized.

Term and Conditions

Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:

• 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
• NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
• In process of pursuing a required degree.
• Medically unfit.
• Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
• Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
