Detailed Job Description

As a VAS Engineer at XAD Technologies, you will take full ownership of operational support, performance monitoring, and advanced technical troubleshooting across enterprise telecommunication environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing core network platforms, analyzing alarms, executing root cause analysis (RCAs), and responding to trouble tickets (TTs) within strict SLA guidelines. You will collaborate closely with R&D teams, field technicians, and client stakeholders to resolve complex network anomalies and implement seamless software updates. Furthermore, you will maintain meticulous documentation of network configurations, audit system security, and support ongoing infrastructure expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the deployment, operation, and maintenance of advanced telecommunications infrastructure utilizing Huawei or ZTE equipment.
• Manage specialized technical domains including USSD, ADM, CRBT, VAS Cloud, SMSC, OMG / XAG, MCO, Spam Shield, BT / XA, CMS, XMS within enterprise core and transport networks.
• Monitor network alarms, performance metrics, and telemetry data for proactive fault detection and swift remediation.
• Respond to trouble tickets (TTs), troubleshoot complex technical bottlenecks, and manage incident escalations.
• Collaborate with research and development (R&D) teams and equipment vendors to resolve intricate software and hardware anomalies.
• Prepare comprehensive root cause analysis (RCAs) reports for major network outages and service disruptions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional field operations teams to execute network upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance.
• Maintain rigorous compliance with telecommunication security standards, quality benchmarks, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of professional engineering experience within the telecommunications sector.
• Extensive hands-on operational and troubleshooting experience with Huawei or ZTE telecommunications hardware and software platforms.
• In-depth technical expertise in VAS Engineer domains including USSD, ADM, CRBT, VAS Cloud, SMSC, OMG / XAG, MCO, Spam Shield, BT / XA, CMS, XMS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Excellent technical documentation and incident response management skills.
• Mandatory eligibility to work onsite in Islamabad, Pakistan.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven ability to thrive in a high-availability, fast-paced network operations environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Vendor certifications from Huawei (e.g., HCIP / HCIE) or ZTE (e.g., ZCIE) in core networks or transport transmission.
• Prior working experience within tier-one mobile network operators (MNOs) or managed service provider (MSP) environments.
