Leads the Management Audit unit in delivering independent, risk-based assurance over the bank's functions, business processes, policies and governance arrangements. The role plans and supervises audit engagements, ensures compliance with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) requirements and the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, and reports findings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution
- Develop the annual management audit plan and a documented risk assessment.
- Plan, scope and supervise financial, operational and management audits of a digital bank.
- Review the design and operating effectiveness of processes, internal controls, policies and delegations of authority, and assess the efficiency of operations across the organization.
- Review audit programs, working papers and testing evidence for quality, sufficiency and consistency with methodology.
Reporting and Follow-up
- Draft and finalize audit reports with clear, risk-rated findings, root causes and practical recommendations, agreed with management.
- Prepare presentations for stakeholders and present significant issues when required.

Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Apply and improve the department's audit methodology, templates and quality assurance practices.
- Introduce data analytics and continuous auditing techniques where practical.
- Contribute to the department's Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Certifications such as CIA, ACCA, CA or CPA.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience, within a bank or financial institution, or in external audit with significant banking clients.
- At least 3–4 years leading audit teams in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SBP regulatory framework, banking operations and risk and control frameworks.
- Working knowledge of IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, COSO and IFRS as applicable to banks (including IFRS 9).
- Proficiency in audit methodology, risk assessment, sampling and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar).
