Job summary

National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a Unit Head - IFRS 9 & Fair Valuations (AVP / VP) for Karachi. The role reports to the Wing Head - Strategic Finance & Special Projects and requires strong IFRS 9 experience and advanced data analytics skills.

Qualifications include 6+ years in financial reporting or risk management, with 2 years in IFRS 9; proficiency in Python, Power BI, SQL, and Excel; and excellent communication abilities. Contractual appointment of three years with renewal option.

Qualifications

• Six years’ experience in financial reporting or risk management in a financial institution.
• Two years IFRS 9 related assignments & reporting preferred.
• Strong data mining and analytical capabilities with large data.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual IFRS 9 ECL calculations using approved models.
• Provide insights and commentary to enable senior management decisions on ECL calculations.
• Develop and enhance IFRS 9 ECL models (PD, LGD, EAD) and related parameters.
• Improve model monitoring and MIS to assess impact of new products/investments.
• Ensure accurate accounting entries and disclosures under IFRS 9 and regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to Risk team on IFRS 9 and risk management.
