Job summary

Translation Empire Ltd in Rawalpindi is seeking a detail-oriented transcriptionist to convert audio and video into accurate text across verbatim, edited, and phonetic formats.

You will follow client guidelines, maintain grammar and English vocabulary, manage deadlines, and participate in QA of transcripts while handling varying workloads. Proficiency in listening, note-taking, and following style guides is essential. This on-site role requires typing speed and discretion.

Qualifications

• Firm grasp on the fundamentals of transcription and its various types.
• Knowledge of the different types of Transcription Services such as: Strict Verbatim Transcription, Intelligent Verbatim Transcription, Edited Transcription, Phonetic Transcription and Discourse Analysis.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thoroughly & understand the British accent i.e., Scottish and Welsh Accents.
• Time management skills.
• Having ample knowledge of the workings of Audio / Video Transcription software i.e., Otter AI
• Ability to cope with large volumes of work.
• Transcribers have above-average typing skills, so most will type between 60 and 80 words per minute typing speed is preferred.
• Very good grasp of the conversational English used by native speakers.
• Dedication, reliability and confidentiality.
• Ability to cope with pressured situations and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio/video into text, ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain source file accuracy throughout transcript.
• Follow various transcription types: intelligent verbatim, edited, phonetic, discourse analysis.
• Undergo training to stay updated on transcription trends.
• Follow client guidelines and formatting instructions.
• Conduct quality control on transcripts for accuracy.
• Submit files within allocated time per file.
• Maintain strong English vocabulary and grammar.
• Ensure translated text retains original meaning and tone.
• Proofread translations and ensure data is error-free.
• Recruit and onboard translators and vendors.
• Work on Translation portal and assist Coordinator.

Main Responsibilities

• Transcribing the Audio/Video files in Text format.
• Making sure the accuracy of the source file is maintained throughout the text transcript.
• Transcribing English Audio Files into Text based on the type of transcript required and understanding all modes of transcription for example:
  • Intelligent Verbatim Transcription
  • Edited Transcription
  • Phonetic Transcription
  • Discourse Analysis

• Undergoing training to stay up to date with the latest transcribing trends and methods.
• Adhering to the guidelines provided by the clients.
• Strictly following the formatting instructions in the transcript file, as described by the company.
• Assuring & Conducting Quality Control on Audio Transcripts for Accuracy of the final product.
• Completing and submitting the files within the allocated time per file.
• Grammatical knowledge should be above par. As well as a good command over English vocabulary.
• Ensuring translated text retains original meaning and tone.
• Proofreading translations and ensuring the data is free of errors.

Additional Responsibilities

When not conducting Audio Transcription work, the candidate will be required to carry out the following additional tasks and responsibilities:

• Recruiting and onboarding Translators (Various skills i.e., Written Translation, Voiceover, Transcribers etc.).
• Recruiting and onboarding Vendors (Vendors are other Translating Agencies registering them in our database).
• Working on the Translation portal, and assisting the Translation Co-ordinator.

Work mode: Work from Office.

Shift Time 11 am to 8pm

Location: DHA Sector F Rawalpindi
