Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a Team Lead Operations to supervise safe and efficient plant operations on assigned shifts in Sahiwal, Pakistan.

The role ensures compliance with PPA, GSA, and OEM guidelines, enforcing safety rules including lockout/tagout and PTW processes while coordinating with ISMO, RCC, and SNGPL for load and gas supplies. The candidate will lead an operations team, train staff, conduct safety drills, and prepare daily operation reports, aiming to minimize risk and maximize plant

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer in Mechanical/Electrical/Control System with PEC recognized degree
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in similar capacity in power plant/petrochemical industries
• Fluency in English (read & write) is mandatory
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, P&ID’s and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant safely and efficiently during the shift
• Participate in daily morning meetings and input operational needs
• Prepare, issue and cancel work permits as Senior Authorized Person (SAP)
• Carry out isolation/de-isolation related to PTW system
• Keep Site Leadership informed of any Operational or EHS incidents
• Generate reports (DOR, Shift Report, Operational event Reports)
• Conduct periodic safety drills and lead emergency response when needed
• Coordinate with ISMO, RCC and SNGPL for load management and gas supply
• Maintain records of correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser under O&M/O PP A/GSA
• Train and supervise subordinate staff
• Ensure compliance with Life Saving Rules (LSR)
• Plan maintenance activities with Owner’s Availability Plan and Power Purchaser Requirements
• Recommend plant modifications for safe, efficient and reliable operation

Job Description Summary

Team Lead Operations, while performing duties in assigned shift, shall be fully responsible for safe and efficient operation of plant, within the technical limits, as outlined in PPA & GSA, by ensuring compliance of Operating procedures & OEM guidelines. Strictly adheres to all safety rules is expected from Team Lead Operations, including but not limited to; lockout/tag out, work permit guidelines, High Risk Operations and similar policies put in place to protect the employee’s health and safety. This role is to be based in Sahiwal.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• To operate the plant Safely and efficiently during his shift.
• To participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.
• To prepare, issue and cancel work permits in the capacity of Senior Authorized Person (SAP).
• To be responsible to carry out the required isolation/de-Isolation related to site's Permit to Work (PTW) system.
• To keep Site Leadership informed of any Operational or EHS related incident.
• To generate report such as Daily Operation reports (DOR), Shift Report, & Operational event Reports
• To make periodic rounds of power plant observing conditions, note abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
• To coordinate with ISMO, RCC and SNGPL for load management and gas supply requirements respectively in accordance with operating procedures and as required under O&M contract.
• To maintain a record of all such correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser as required under O & M agreement, PPA and GSA.
• Coordinate with ISMO through SDXP and ensure compliance of instruction issued by ISMO.
• To handle plant emergencies by effective coordination, teamwork, timely and prudent decisions.
• To acquire adequate knowledge of EHS/Quality/AMS policies & procedures and ensure compliance.
• To understand EH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspects / impacts related to work activities.
• To impart training and supervise the work of subordinate staff.
• To carry out periodic safety drill and shall lead emergency response team whenever an emergency emerges.
• To be responsible for housekeeping of his assigned plant area and participate in Zonal monthly housekeeping inspections and other inspections/Hazard Hunts to identify situations, conditions, aspects that may pose risk to employee, equipment or/& environment.
• To carry out and complete all EHS related Tasks and trainings within the assigned target date. These tasks can be assigned via Compliance Calendar, Action Tracking system, & Concern reports
• Generate Service Requests in MAXIMO to address Plant issues/problem and get them resolved in coordination with Maintenance Team
• Complete the process of SAP Authorization and follow the responsibilities assigned in SWP & authorities defined in Authorization certificate.
• Conduct safety talks, toolbox talks, safety dialogues etc.
• Conduct/review EHS Risk assessments of routine and non-routine work activities and implement controls as needed/assigned.
• Ensure Compliance of Life Saving Rules (LSR) at site.
• Participate in the planning meetings and sessions with maintenance teams to make sure the maintenance activities are planned keeping in view the Owner’s Availability Plan and Power Purchaser Requirements.
• To recommend the plant modifications and betterment for safe, efficient and reliable operation.
