Job summary

JBS AI in Karachi is seeking a senior engineering leader to own end-to-end delivery across AI projects. You will sit above the development team as the technical lead, making architecture decisions, setting code and quality standards, and mentoring engineers.

You will manage client relationships, deliver updates, and ensure on-time shipped results. The role requires hands-on involvement when delivery risk arises and the ability to lead scope reviews and staffing decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two enterprise computer vision systems deployed to production.
• Leadership of an engineering team of ~4–6 people with verifiable delivery outcomes.
• Experience managing technical relationships with enterprise clients.

JBS AI is the artificial intelligence and custom software division of JBS. We build enterprise computer vision, automation, and AI agent solutions for clients across four regions.

Role Overview

This role owns delivery across the JBS AI project portfolio — taking a project from signed scope through to shipped, on time, and accepted by the client. The role sits above the development team as its technical lead, making architecture decisions, setting code and quality standards, and mentoring the engineers. The role holds the technical relationship with clients: delivery updates, and expectation-setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery across the AI project portfolio, from signed scope to client acceptance
• Hold projects to agreed timelines and raise risk early where they are slipping
• Make architecture decisions across all live projects
• Set and enforce code and quality standards
• Guide and mentor the engineering team
• Stay hands-on enough to enter a project directly when delivery is at risk
• Review scope on every proposal before it goes to a client
• Sign off effort estimates and delivery timelines
• Run delivery updates and set expectations with client stakeholders
• Escalate pricing, commercial terms and renewals to the BU Head
• Allocate engineering resource across live projects
• Flag early where an incoming deal cannot be staffed properly

Skills

• Production-grade computer vision: edge, NVR and on-prem deployment
• Working command of the wider AI and ML landscape — data projects, classical ML, and LLM-based work — sufficient to scope, estimate, evaluate and direct the team, without necessarily building each piece personally
• Architecture and technical standard-setting across concurrent projects
• Effort estimation and scope assessment under commercial pressure
• Engineering team leadership, delegation and mentoring
• Client-facing communication, including declining a request without damaging the relationship
• Comfort operating in a lean setup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
• At least two enterprise computer vision systems taken fully to production — real deployments, real users, at scale. Proofs-of-concept and research demos do not count
• Prior leadership of an engineering team of approximately four to six people or more, with delivery outcomes verifiable through references
• Demonstrated experience holding the technical relationship with enterprise clients
