Job description

Join our Special Education Department and build a meaningful career in a collaborative, employee-focused environment. We offer exceptional job opportunities for dedicated professionals, with comprehensive career development programs and support for advanced certifications. Our global network provides unique avenues for professional growth, allowing you to contribute to innovative educational practices worldwide.

Special Education Department: Career Opportunities for 2026

The Department of Special Education is a dynamic and mission-driven division dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized educational services to students with diverse learning needs. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practices, a commitment to inclusive education, and a deep respect for the unique potential of every learner. As we look toward the 2026 academic year, we are strategically expanding our team to meet growing demand and to launch several innovative support programs. This planned growth represents a significant investment in our students' futures and creates a wealth of meaningful career paths for dedicated professionals. We are actively building a pipeline for talent to join our collaborative environment, where interdisciplinary teams work together to design and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and foster student success across all environments.

Our 2026 hiring initiative is designed to address specific gaps in service delivery and to pioneer new models of support. We are not merely filling vacancies; we are intentionally crafting roles that will shape the future of special education in our district. This includes enhancing our early intervention services, expanding our transition planning for post-secondary life, and integrating more assistive technology specialists directly into school teams. We seek individuals who are not only qualified but are also passionate advocates, creative problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. Employment within our department offers a chance to make a tangible, daily impact while receiving robust professional development and support from seasoned mentors and administrators.

Anticipated Job Openings in 2026

We anticipate a robust hiring cycle for the 2026 school year, with job openings spanning instructional, therapeutic, and support positions. Core instructional roles will include Special Education Teachers across all grade bands, with a particular need for educators certified in low-incidence disabilities and those skilled in cross-categorical resource settings. These positions require developing differentiated curriculum, co-teaching in general education classrooms, and meticulously tracking student progress against IEP goals. Furthermore, we plan to hire several Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support our autism spectrum disorder programs and district-wide positive behavior intervention systems. Related service providers are also a high priority, with projected openings for Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and School Psychologists to conduct evaluations and deliver direct, integrated services.

Beyond classroom-based jobs, the Department of Special Education will be recruiting for critical support specialists to enhance our systemic capacity. These careers include Special Education Coordinators to oversee program compliance and instructional coaching at the building level, as well as Assistive Technology Consultants to train staff and students on adaptive tools and software. We also forecast openings for dedicated Paraprofessionals to provide one-on-one and small-group student support, a role fundamental to implementing IEPs with fidelity. Each of these vacancies represents a key piece of our service delivery model. We encourage candidates to monitor our official district employment portal starting in the fall of 2025 for specific position postings, application deadlines, and detailed qualification requirements.
