Job summary

Indus Hospital is seeking a Clinical Psychologist or counselor to provide patient counseling and support to DR-TB and drug-susceptible TB patients five days a week, aligned with WHO and NTP guidelines.

You will coordinate adherence, conduct intake and follow-up sessions, lead group discussions with smear- and culture-negative patients, maintain confidential records, refer to psychiatric care when needed, and contribute to monitoring tools and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• Provide psychological counseling to DR-TB and drug-susceptible TB patients five days a week, ensuring all advice and interventions align strictly with WHO and NTP guidelines.
• Reinforce treatment adherence without altering any treatment regimen unless formally discussed with the clinical team and approved by the Clinical Team Lead.
• Conduct intake counseling sessions for all DR-TB patients at enrollment, and provide structured follow-up counseling at least once every two months during clinical reviews.
• Lead focused group discussions (FGDs) with smear- and culture-negative patients to promote continued treatment adherence and address psychosocial barriers.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all patients counseled, ensuring strict compliance with data confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Identify patients requiring psychiatric care and coordinate referrals for hospitalization where necessary. Promptly report any behavioral, emotional, or treatment-related concerns to the program, clinical, and field teams.
• Contribute to the development of standardized tools for monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of counseling services across all sites.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols during all patient interactions and counseling sessions.
• Any other task assigned by management as per need.
