Job summary

Inspire Pakistan seeks a GBV Interpreter to provide confidential, accurate, survivor-centred interpretation between GBV survivors and service providers. The role ensures respectful, neutral communication while maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards.

Key duties include interpreting during case management sessions, coordinating with the GBV team, and upholding safeguarding and Do No Harm principles at all times.

Qualifications

• Preferably Bachelor’s level education.
• Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is required, with the ability to interpret accurately between local languages and Urdu/English.
• Preferably some experience in interpretation, community work, or humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethical conduct.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation during interactions between survivors and GBV service providers.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure no information is disclosed beyond authorised channels.
• Ensure respectful, neutral, and culturally appropriate communication with survivors.
• Coordinate with GBV Field Supervisor and team for scheduling and support.
• Do not engage in case management or provide advice beyond language support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
