Job summary

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years post-graduate experience from AKUH residency, strong clinical interpretation skills, and a commitment to service, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• FCPS in any discipline of Pathology, preferably in Hematology or Chemical Pathology.
• 1-2 years of experience after post-graduation / AKUH residency program completion.
• Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
• Possess teaching skills and experience.
• Ability to understand laboratory issues from the patient's perspective.
• Ability to maintain continuous open and consistent communication with faculty, staff, patients and their families.
• Ability to make decisions by weighing several factors and to develop solutions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Ability to act quickly to address a crisis drawing on appropriate resources.

Responsibilities

• Competence in Laboratory procedures such as bone marrow, bone trephines, skin biopsies, FNCAs & others.
• Well versed in service, academic and quality practice.
• Knowledge and confidence in interpretation of laboratory reports.
• Possess teaching skills and experience.
• Ability to understand laboratory issues from the patient's perspective.
• Ability to maintain continuous open and consistent communication with faculty, staff, patients and their families.
