Job summary

Avanceon is seeking an Automation Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience to design, develop, and commission automation systems across diverse industrial sectors. The role emphasizes PLCs, DCS, instrumentation, and end-to-end automation solutions.

You will configure PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and DCS platforms, develop HMI/SCADA dashboards, participate in FAT/SAT, and lead on-site start-up activities while ensuring IEC/ISA compliance.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, specializing in the design, development, and commissioning of automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in PLCs, DCS, and associated instrumentation, and will be responsible for delivering end-to-end automation solutions across diverse industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Develop detailed automation system architectures, I/O lists, and control philosophies.
• Prepare and review functional design specifications (FDS), cause & effect diagrams, and control narratives.
• Configure and program PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.) and DCS platforms (Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, etc.).
• Develop HMI/SCADA graphics and dashboards.

Project Execution:

• Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
• Lead or support on-site commissioning, loop checking, and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems to ensure smooth operation and achieve process KPIs.

Documentation & Standards:

• Generate as-built documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, ISA, local codes).
• Maintain clear project records and technical documentation.

Team & Customer Interaction:

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, vendors, and clients.
• Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design and execution practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: BSc Engineering – Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics from a recognized institute.

Experience: At least 4-5 years of practical experience within the industrial automation industry.

Project Phase Expertise: Knowledge of process manufacturing, field instrumentation, control system installation, and implementation expertise in the following project phases:

• Requirement’s Documentation
• Detailed Design Generation
• Implementation
• System Integration
• Testing
• Onsite Startup

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities in English.

Relationship Building: Proven ability to cultivate strong and lasting relationships with both customers and partners.
