Job summary

Avanceon is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation. You will design, develop, and commission automation systems, including PLCs and DCS, across diverse sectors.

The role requires creating control narratives, HMIs, and participating in FAT/SAT, site start-ups, and ongoing optimization while maintaining documentation and standards in line with IEC/ISA guidelines.

Qualifications

• BSc Engineering in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics from a recognized institute.
• 4-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation.
• Experience with process manufacturing and control system installation.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed automation system architectures, I/O lists, and control philosophies.
• Configure and program PLCs and DCS platforms; develop HMI/SCADA graphics and dashboards.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, specializing in the design, development, and commissioning of automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in PLCs, DCS, and associated instrumentation, and will be responsible for delivering end-to-end automation solutions across diverse industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Develop detailed automation system architectures, I/O lists, and control philosophies.
• Prepare and review functional design specifications (FDS), cause & effect diagrams, and control narratives.
• Configure and program PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.) and DCS platforms (Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, etc.).
• Develop HMI/SCADA graphics and dashboards.

Project Execution:

• Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
• Lead or support on-site commissioning, loop checking, and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems to ensure smooth operation and achieve process KPIs.

Documentation & Standards:

• Generate as-built documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, ISA, local codes).
• Maintain clear project records and technical documentation.

Team & Customer Interaction:

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, vendors, and clients.
• Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design and execution practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: BSc Engineering – Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics from a recognized institute.

Experience: At least 4-5 years of practical experience within the industrial automation industry.

Project Phase Expertise: Knowledge of process manufacturing, field instrumentation, control system installation, and implementation expertise in the following project phases:

• Requirement’s Documentation
• Detailed Design Generation
• Implementation
• System Integration
• Testing
• Onsite Startup

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities in English.
