Role Description

The Speech and Language Therapist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with speech, language, and communication challenges in an on‑site setting located in Karachi. This contract role involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing and implementing child‑centered treatment plans, and monitoring progress through ongoing documentation and reporting. The therapist will collaborate with families, educators, and the wider multidisciplinary team to support each child’s communication goals and integrate therapy strategies into daily routines. Additional responsibilities include contributing to parent consultations, participating in case conferences, and engaging in professional development activities aligned with Learning Lab’s inclusive, whole‑child approach.

Qualifications

• Candidate Requirements Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Speech and Audiology, Speech‑Language Pathology, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in educational, clinical, or therapeutic settings.
• Strong knowledge and practical skills in speech and language assessment, intervention, and therapy.
• Ability to identify, assess, and manage communication, speech, and language disorders in children.
• Knowledge and experience in evaluating and managing dysphagia/feeding difficulties, where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including familiarity with AAC systems, communication boards, visual supports, and other alternative communication methods.
• Ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on each child’s communication, developmental, and learning needs, and adapt interventions accordingly.
• Strong observation, assessment, documentation, and record‑keeping skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with teachers, therapists, caregivers, and other professionals.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, patience, and a child‑centered approach to therapy.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, learning, and supervision.
• Appropriate licensure/registration from a relevant regulatory body is a plus.
