Job summary

Hul Hub Pakistan is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to lead AI-augmented testing and critical analysis across the software lifecycle. The role focuses on identifying gaps in requirements, developing thorough test strategies, and ensuring data integrity through API, UI, and integration testing.

You will use Postman, SQL, Jira, and browser tools to diagnose defects, while leveraging AI tools for test design and log analysis. Strong English communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, ambiguities, contradictions, and risks.
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and edge-case testing.
• Use AI for test scenarios, data, scripts, log summaries, and root-cause analysis while avoiding hallucinations.
• Investigate defects using browser tooling, logs, API responses, databases, and monitoring.
• Test REST APIs, verify contracts, authorization, error handling, and data integrity with SQL.
• Conduct load and performance testing with JMeter and Locust.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Selenium, Python, or JavaScript.
• Validate fixes, assess regression risks, and improve testing strategies and quality.
• Document defects clearly and communicate risks while owning quality throughout the lifecycle.

• Use AI for test scenarios, test data, scripts, log summaries, and root-cause analysis, while catching hallucinations and weak output.
• Investigate defects using browser developer tools, application logs, API responses, database records, and monitoring tools.
• Test REST APIs, validate request/response contracts, verify authorization and error handling, and use SQL to ensure data integrity.
• Perform load and performance testing using JMeter and Locust.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Selenium, Python, or JavaScript.
• Validate fixes, assess regression risks, and continuously improve testing strategies and quality standards.
• Document defects clearly, communicate technical risks, and take ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of relevant software testing experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing and development tools is highly desirable.

Job Specifications:

• Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, risk-based testing, and boundary value analysis.
• Hands-on familiarity with Postman, SQL, Jira, and browser developer tools.
• Understanding of functional, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of defect investigation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and test automation fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal English, including requirement analysis and professional defect reporting.
• Ability to identify assumptions, detect contradictions, evaluate competing explanations, and make evidence-based decisions.
• Experience with ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Selenium, Python, JavaScript, PyCharm, Visual Studio, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and distributed systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of enterprise or SaaS application testing is an advantage.
• Strong ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving skills.
