Job summary

Folium AI in Lahore is hiring a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure software quality, reliability, and performance. The role emphasizes strong manual testing, hands-on automation, and cross-browser testing to detect issues beyond standard use cases.

The ideal candidate will design test cases, maintain automation suites, and integrate tests into CI/CD. Collaboration with developers and PMs is essential to improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 1.5-3 years of professional software QA experience.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC, Agile/Scrum, and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on manual testing with test case design techniques.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Scripting in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• Experience testing APIs with Postman or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Jira or Azure DevOps and SQL basics.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP status codes, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps and risks.
• Design comprehensive test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Develop and maintain automated UI and API test suites.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Report, track, and follow up on bugs until resolution.
• Prepare test plans, reports, and QA documentation.
• Collaborate with developers and project managers to improve product quality.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and contribute to QA process improvements.

Working Hours: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

About The Role

Folium AI is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. The ideal candidate should have strong manual testing skills, hands-on automation experience, and the ability to identify potential issues beyond standard use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps and potential risks.
• Design comprehensive test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, exploratory, and cross-browser testing.
• Develop and maintain automated UI and API test suites.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• 1.5-3 years of professional software QA experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and software testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing and test case design techniques.
• Experience with at least one automation framework, such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Scripting knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
• Familiarity with Jira or Azure DevOps and basic SQL queries.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP status codes, browser developer tools, and debugging techniques.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• ISTQB certification.
• Basic performance testing knowledge using JMeter or k6.
• Awareness of security testing and OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar platforms.
