Job summary

Aqovia is seeking a Technical Analyst with EdTech and LMS expertise to bridge academic workflows and software delivery. You will support agile squads building large-scale learning platforms, design APIs, and translate complex needs into precise technical docs and user stories.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure API-first development, data modeling, and seamless system integrations with Moodle and external services. This role emphasizes fast-paced delivery and technical communication.

• Architect RESTful APIs and define web service contracts using JSON Schema and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Design integrations between Moodle, PHP/Laravel environments, and third-party systems (SIS, payment gateways).
• Model relational data structures and map complex system flows using BPMN and UML.
• Validate APIs using Postman and collaborate with QA and Product Owners for acceptance testing.

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with specialised expertise in EdTech and LMS ecosystems to join our software engineering division.

In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between academic workflows and technical implementation. You will support high-velocity development squads building expansive digital learning platforms and pivotal digital transformation initiatives, designing API's, converting complex business needs into precise technical documentation and actionable user stories.

What You Will Do

• Requirements & Architecture: Elicit requirements and write precise user stories (with acceptance criteria and Gherkin scenarios) in Jira/Confluence.

• API Design: Architect RESTful web APIs within an API-first framework, defining web service contracts using JSON Schema and OpenAPI/Swagger.

• System Integration: Design integrations between Moodle, bespoke PHP/Laravel environments, and third-party systems (SIS, financial gateways).

• Data & Process Modeling: Model relational data structures and map complex system flows using BPMN and UML methodologies.

• Validation & Testing: Validate APIs using Postman and collaborate with QA and Product Owners to facilitate acceptance testing.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Criteria:

• Technical Analysis: Solid commercial experience as a Technical Analyst delivering software solutions for Agile teams.

• API & Web Standards: Expert knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication, and hands‑on experience with Postman.

• Databases: Strong SQL skills for complex data mapping and validating system integrity.

• Agile Frameworks: Deep understanding of Scrum/Kanban, backlog refinement, and resolving requirement ambiguity.

• Documentation: Proven ability to create clear system flows (BPMN/UML) and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Valued (Domain Specific):

• Deep understanding of Moodle's database schema and Web Services APIs.

• Familiarity with PHP and Laravel paradigms (MVC, Eloquent, routing).

• Knowledge of EdTech interoperability standards (LTI, SCORM, xAPI).

• Experience integrating tools like online proctoring or local payment gateways relevant to the Pakistani market.
