Job summary

vFairs is seeking a Software Architect to drive architectural vision and technical excellence across engineering teams, delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance systems for our event tech platform. You will lead architecture reviews and define standards to ensure modular, maintainable designs that scale with business needs.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and executives, and shape the long-term technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of professional software experience with at least 5+ years in architecture and system design.
• Strong background in software design principles, distributed systems, and architectural patterns (microservices, CQRS, DDD, event-driven).
• Deep understanding of backend frameworks (Laravel, Node.js, .NET, or Java) and frontend ecosystems (Vue.js, React, Angular).
• Experience designing real-time systems (chat, streaming, WebSockets, or WebRTC).
• Expertise with AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Lambda) and infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and communicate end-to-end architectures for complex software systems.
• Translate business goals into modular, scalable architectures.
• Define and maintain architectural principles, standards, and patterns.
• Perform architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technology evaluations.
• Partner with engineering leads, product managers, and executives to define long-term technical strategy and roadmap.
• Design distributed, event-driven microservices architectures for high-traffic applications.
• Establish API standards, data flow models, integration patterns, and communication protocols.
• Guide teams to build resilient, observable, and secure systems.
• Lead technical design reviews, POCs, and architecture discussions.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
