Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner to determine quantities and order dates to meet the master production schedule and customer demand.

The role expedites purchases and production orders as needed, coordinating with Sourcing and Supply Chain teams to balance supply with demand. Responsibilities include maintaining PFEP data, managing part changes, and driving improvements in delivery performance, inventory levels, and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or higher; college degree preferred in Business or Engineering.
• Experience in materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely customer order delivery and monitor demand fulfillment.
• Manage master production scheduling and procurement alignment across functions.
• Lead continuous improvement and standard operating procedures in planning activities.
• Use ERP/ASCP systems and data analytics to drive planning decisions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize inventory and lead times.
